Significance of Putrada Ekadashi – Prernamurti Bharti Shriji

putrada-ekadashi

Once upon a time, King Mahijeet was benevolently and dutifully ruling in Mahishmati Nagari (City). People were very happy in his kingdom. Even then the king was not happy because he didn’t have any son. Once he told his people – “You are similar to my children but still I don’t have any child of my own. This fact makes me sad. I gave alms to deities and Brahmans. I never ever took money which someone else deserves.

King told his people that – “I have neither committed any sin nor did I earn wealth by injustice. I have always nurtured my people like my own children. I have followed all the rules of etiquettes. Then for which deed am I getting this punishment of not having any offspring?” After listening to this, everyone including the king’s Purohits (family priests) andwell-wishers, started looking for a solution to this. While chasing for a solution, luckily they met rishi Lomash in some forest.

Looking at the people, rishi Lomash asked them the reason for approaching. Theysaid – “Our King is very Kind. He nourished us like his own children. He is very sad due to Childlessness. Thus, it is our duty to make our king happy. Maharaja, please provide some solution through which our King can get a son.” Lomash rishi was Trikal Gyani (omniscient). He meditated for a while , saw the past of King and told them –“Your King was a Vaishya in past who used to exploit human beings, drink their blood. This Vaishya used to do business by wandering from one town to another. On the day of Jyeshtha Shukla Dashami tithi (10 th day of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month), he was thirsty and went near a lake to drink water where a calf also came along with her mother cow to drink water. But to quench his own thirst, he ignored thirst of the calf and threw the calf out of lake along with mother cow. Because of this sin, King was suffering from the pain of childlessness in this birth and due to some Punya (Good deeds) in the past, he got an empire.

Now people asked Lomash rishi – “Prabhu, you are omnipresent. Please tell us what shall we do so that our King gets a son.” Lomash rishi said – “Putrada Ekadashi of Shravana Shukla Paksha helps to get a son. One who desires a child, should duly observe fast on Putrada Ekadashi. All of you, on behalf of your king, observe fast, do Jagran (all-night vigil), do Kirtan of name of Lord Narayan. Then due to this Punya (all the good deeds done on Putrada Ekadashi), your king will get a son." People duly observed fast on Putrada Ekadashi as guided by rishi Lomash and consecrated the Punya to their King. After a few days , Queen became pregnant and gave birth to a healthy child.

That’s why, You all observe fast on all the Ekadashi’s and also motivate others to do it.

Nearby is Dehotsarg, where He succumbed to His mortal wound. The temple at Bhalka Tirth is known as Mahaprabhuji’s Bethak, and a basil  tree has been planted in Lord Krishna’s memory. At the Dehotsarg Tirth, in the 9th century AD Shri Vallabhacharya gave discourses on Shrimad Bhagvat Gita for seven days, as well as the revered Gita Mandir, which has eighteen marble pillars with a chapter from the Bhagvat Gita inscribed on each one. The temple also contains a beautiful tribhangi idol of Lord Krishna playing his flute.

Triveni Ghat in Somnath is the meeting point of three holy rivers – Kapil, Hiran and a mystical River Saraswati, which are believed to be flowing to their ultimate destination – Arabian Sea. These stages of rivers where they meet and then flow together to the sea symbolises human birth, life and death.

Rajputa Vaja clan was in charge of Somnath during the Muslim desecrations. The devotional episode of the princess Veni is said to have been depicted in the novel by Shri K.M. Munshi. The temple was outside of the fort wall of Prabhas Pattan at the time of holy war with Gazani. The soldiers of Gazani attempted an abduction of the princess Veni, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva who used to regularly visit the temple to offer her services to the Lord Shiva. The traditions maintain that the Shiva linga spontaneously got divided and the princess got buried into it. The Shiva temple here is known as Veneshwar temple after the fond memory of the divine episode of Veni.

The glorified carried onto place where Pujya Lilashshji Maharaj did penance and attended Nirvana. after that Dakshinmukhi Ganpati Mandir and behind that Swayambhu Shivlinga, there were many Shiv Lnga but the one appeared only once in  month else covered with Sea water.

Devotee: Maiyaji, What should a sadhak abandon?

Maiya: EGO

Devotee: What should a sadhak adapt?

Maiya : Bhakti(devotion for God).

Devotee: Maiya, is doing Mala Japa(japa on a beed string) for the whole day, called Sadhna?

Maiya:   No. Being careful or alert is Sadhna. You do only 10 mala japa once a day but must go into the depth of your Guru Mantra(mantra given by Spiritual Master), that you don’t have the idea of happenings around you. It should not happen that you are just moving your fingers on mala for the whole day, but your mind and heart are roaming somewhere else. Whatever you do , do wholeheartedly.

Devotee: Maa, why do we need a mala for japa? Why can’t we do it without mala?

Maiya : If one has the capacity to do japa without mala, its good. But our chitta (heart) is always so restless, that it needs to be tied down with something. Moreover, if you will do japa without mala then you will be surrounded by sleep. Our chitta needs some base to be tied with. Therefore, it is necessary to do japa with a mala.

Whenever your mind gets dull, intellect starts to get vanished, chanting God name, chanting omkar,  connects you directly to the GURU or GOD,which  relaxes  your mind. You find peace of mind and get relieved.

The only resource to JOY is Chanting Gods name and spirituality. Untill and unless man practices chanting of Gods name, mind gets distracted, it gets assigned to disorders. Mind itself gets restive rather than external sources. Intellect itself creates unhappiness rather than external sources.

HOW TO PURIFY MIND ?

It gets purified through chanting Gods name or chanting omkar. Intellect increases and mind becomes subtle. Like two birds seating together may play with their mandibles, as soon they fly high in sky theres no fight, similarly the person with lower consciousness, get disturbed more, becomes unrest, unpleaseant, be consumed to Blame and Praise, ultimately unhappy. But as you uplift yourself to region of subtle mind, theres no Blame  and praise, no Quarrels. Hence, man should always be subtle and uplifted.

The core outcome of selfless service and satsanga is to be senseless to the materialistic world, be free from blame –praise, respect-disrespect.

The spiritual person is more successful in Behavior compared to other humans, because he bestows the power of meditation. The enlightened persons reach to depth of behavior , where normal person cannot. Hence a person should always be subtle, because a subtle mind is more success in behavior and uplifted.Mind needs to be subtle as it can grasp easily the deep and difficult concepts. A harsh mind needs to be subtle , because harshness of mind gets distracted and leads to complications in life.

What is the root cause for harshness of mind ? How it can be cured ??

But what if you cannot lift yourself from fear?

How to uplift your self from ego ?

Pilgrimage- Heart of Hinduism — Prernamurti Bharti Shriji

vlcsnap-2015-06-19-16h49m08s231Pilgrimage is the heart of Hinduism.Pilgrimage is a sacred journey. It is a process that is not meant to simply get away from it all, but to allow oneself to encounter, see, and experience the Divine. This is accomplished by associating with holy people, visiting the holy places where the pastimes of the Divine have taken place, and where the sacred temples allow darshhan: the Vision of the Supreme. Darshan is the process of approaching the Deity in the Temple in a state of spiritual communication, open and ready to receive sacred revalations. It means to see the Absolute Reality, and also to be seen by that Supreme Reality, God.

Pilgrimage means living very simply, and going toward what is holy and most sacred, and remaining focused on the opportunity of having a life-changing experience. In this way we will undergo voluntary austerities for purification to relieve ourselves of lifetimes of karma. This process will help change our consciousness and our perception of our spiritual identity and how we fit into this world, and help us gain access to the spiritual dimension through enlightenment.

There are several reasons why many people go on pilgrimage tours of the holy sites and temples of India. One, of course, is to dovetail our interest in travelling and seeing foreign lands into a way of acquiring spiritual merit. Most everyone likes to travel and see new countries and sights and inspiring places, and some of the most stimulating places are those of spiritual importance where historical events or miracles have taken place, or where significant spiritual incidents have happened as described in various spiritual texts and epics, such as the Ramayana, Mahabharata, etc.

One of the most important reasons for going on pilgrimage tours and seeing the places of spiritual importance is to meet other saintly people who follow a spiritual path and see how they live. This is especially the case with saints and sages who can help us by giving their association and sharing their spiritual knowledge and realizations. This is of prime importance for us in order to align our lives in a similar manner so we can also make spiritual progress.

Also, by studying in such spiritually vibrant holy places, even for short periods of time, or by taking bath in the spiritually powerful rivers, such experiences will purify and enliven us and give us a deeper understanding of how to live a spiritual lifestyle. Tours like this can give us an everlasting impression that will inspire us for years to come, maybe even for the rest of our lives. Such an opportunity may not happen often, even after many lifetimes, so if such a possibility does come into our lives, we should seriously take advantage of it.

When you are travelling in harmony with the Divine, it is not unlikely that you will experience spontaneous help from others when you may need it. This has happened to me in many ways and many times. In such a state of consciousness, seeming obstacles will quickly disappear. However, other challenges may be there to test our sincerity, but usually it is nothing so great that prevents us from reaching our goal, unless we have some serious karma to work out. It is divine guidance that assists us in our mission and prepares us for higher and higher levels of spiritual perception. Perceiving this assistance is another form of experiencing the Divine and the spiritual progress that we are making.

The objective of pilgrimage takes on more meaning when we realize the purpose of life. Life is meant for becoming free from the materialistic world which means the continuous cycle of birth and death. It is for making spiritual advancement and to perceive our real identity.

In religion and spirituality, a pilgrimage is a long journey or search of great moral significance. Sometimes, it is a journey to a sacred place or shrine of importance to a naat faith. Members of every major religion participate in pilgrimages. A person who makes such a journey is called a pilgrim.

Inspirational Bhagvad Geeta–Prernamurti Bharti Shriji

Insiratinal bhagvadgeeta (1)The Bhagavad Gita is one of the greatest Religious Spiritual Book. Considered to be a doctrine of universal truth, it has long been influencing people not only of India but also overseas. Bhagavd Gita shows path to the lost, answer to the confused and wisdom to all. It is considered to be one of the greatest spritual books the world has ever known. The primary purpose of the Bhagavad- Gita is to illuminate for all of humanity the realization of the true nature of divinity; for the highest spiritual conception and the greatest material perfection is to attain love of God ! (sc)

Some of the most popular and important teachings are listed below:-

Thoughts about big or small, your or mine should be kept out:We should not think about how big or small can we really make things. All this is materialistic and engagespeople in tensions and greedy activities. It makes one profit oriented. Thinking about yours or mine also does the same. All the life we make and collect things for ourselves. This really dosen’t make a difference when we leave this world. We all are turned into ashes after death.(sc)

Money mind can not meditate:Bhagavad Gita talks a lot about meditation and it’s importance. Meditation is considered extremely helpful for inner peace and ‘sadhna’. Moreover, a person who thinks about making money all the time can not really engage in meditation. When a person’s mind is not stable and he or she thinks only about money, then meditation would be a failed effort for such a person.(sc)

Desires come and go:Desires come and go, but you should remain a dispassionate witness, simply watching and enjoying the show. Everyone experiences, desires but one should not be moved by them. They should not bother a person. People sometimes undertake really evil actions because of their desires. So one should not come under the chains of desires(sc)

Krishna is the supreme:Krishna is the supreme personality of Godhead. He is the original cause of all causes. He starts everything and ends everything too. He is there everywhere. He is omnipresent and omnipotent. We are just puppets whom he controls. He is divine and transcendental.(sc)

One should devote himself or herself to Krishna:The supreme personality of godhead is the ultimate support of any human being. Our fellow humans may not care for us or support as or may even leave us in our bad times but Krishna is always there for us. The person who knows this truth is never really troubled by sadness or grief.(sc)

Every action and deed of ours should be dedicated to Krishna:Whatever we do in the course of our lifetime should be dedicated to the supreme personality of Godhead. This will always result in giving us peace and satisfaction. One should consider remembering Krishna during their actions. This makes us feel that God would be there with us and our actions would turn out to be positive.(sc)

We did not bring anything to this world, neither are we going to take anything:We came to this world empty handed. We have made everything over here, be it relations, money, love or respect. Wecannot take anything with us when we die. Everything would be left over here. So we should not really do evil things when it comes to the question of our respect. Nor should we be really concerned about making as much money as possible. We should be satisfied with what we have as everything would be left over here in this material world, we won’t be able to take anything with us.(sc)

Progress and development are the rules of this universe:Things may not be the same, the way they used to be. Things and circumstances change. We should neither expect people, nor surroundings, not even society to be same. They all change with time. We move ahead. Universe forgets old things and moves forwars, so do we. We should not stick on one point, this willmake our existence much more problematic in this world(sc)

Whatever happened was good, whatever is happening is good and what all will happen in the future will be good:We should not repent about our past or worry about the future as the present is going on. We should know that God has planned everything for us. He will not let anything bad happen to us. Whatever happens is for our good only. We should be optimistic and should not stress our self with these baseless worries of past and future. If things are not favourable, they surely would be. Just have faith in the supreme personality of Godhead.(sc)

World is perishable and whoever comes to this world surely has to go one day:This world is not immortal. One who takes birth dies one day and that is the ultimate truth of this world. Nothing exists permanently. One has to leave this world, even though he wishes not to. No magic can actually help a person to stay forever. Everyone has their set life periods. They vanish after completing them. No matter how great one is or how power one posses, all have to die one day.(sc)

Soul is immortal and our body is perishable Our soul never dies:Our soul never dies. Even after our death, it exists. It is immortal. It just changes bodies after the death of a person. Moreover, our body is made up of ‘Agni’ (fire), ‘Jal’ (water) ,’Vayu’ (wind), ‘Prithvi’ (earth) and it combines with them after the death. So we should not pay a lot of attention towards our outer body, butinstead should work for the inner soul, it’s satisfaction.(sc)

We should do our work without worrying about it’s result:When we work for getting fruits or the result from a particular action, we can’t really be our best in it. It also gives us a lot of worries about the result. We may also feel disheartened if our task or action does not yieldgood outputs. Therefore, just doing our work without really thinking about it’s result should be our motive..(sc).
