Obedience to Guru

Even though you have lost everything in your life, every thing from you  is stolen than too you are the richest because you have ‘Sadguru’.  You have the Sadguru and Obedience to guru is your virtue than your future is brightened and glorious, you are not the looser , But the W INNER.

Guru-Bhakti and Guru-Seva terminate (if it can at all be called a termination) in Self-realisation. You will have to go on serving the Guru. The Guru will reveal the Truth to you when your self-surrender is complete, when the time is ripe. But that is not your concern. Even as Arjuna prayed for the Visvarupa-Darshana and waited for the Lord to bestow the Divya-Chakshu on him, you will have to serve, serve, and serve, and the Guru will bestow the Knowledge on you when you are ripe for It. Some deluded aspirants serve their Guru for some years and then give it up foolishly imagining that they have attained Chitta-Shuddhi. They do not gain the Supreme Knowledge; they do not reach their Goal. They, no doubt, gain some merit (Punya), but Self-realisation is not attained: this is indeed a great loss, a great blunder.

Guru-Bhakti and Seva  takes you Across the torrential stream of Samsara 

Guru-Bhakti and Guru-Seva are like the two oars to the boat of Sadhana that takes you across the torrential stream of Samsara. You cannot do without them until you reach the other shore, until you attain Immortality and Eternal Bliss, until you become a Jivanmukta. Then Guru-Bhakti itself manifests in you as Self-realisation; and Guru-Seva becomes Lokasangraha in which you automatically engage yourself.

One who has such a Guru-Bhakti, one who has totally surrendered himself to the Guru, one who serves the Guru wholeheartedly, knows no grief, no sorrow, no fear, no pain, no misery, no ignorance and he instantly attains Godrealisation: for, Guru and God are one. He attains instantaneous Knowledge and Self-Illumination. Therefore have the Upanishads also declared: “Yasya deve para bhaktiryathaa deve tathaa gurau; Tasyaite kathitaahyarthaah prakaashante mahaatmanah.” “One who has Supreme Devotion to God and equal devotion to his Guru, to such a great Mahatma will the truths of the Upanishads be clear as crystal.”

May you all shine as the embodiments of Guru-Bhakti! May you all roam about freely as Jivanmuktas in this very birth! May God bless you all with health, long life, peace prosperity and Kaivalya Moksha!

Devotee: Ma! How would we come to know as to which state of Sadhna  have we attained?

Maiyaji : Don’t worry about your state of Sadhna . leave everything to God but that doesn’t mean at all that one should stop doing his efforts. Do not waste your time in unnecessary gossip. Save that precious time & get deeply engrossed in Sadhna.

Devotee: ma! How should we do Sadhna ?

Maiyaji : One needs to have traits of ‘abhyasa’(practice) and Vairagya (detachment) and the stage of Vairagya should be such that you get detached from the pleasures of even ‘Brahmloka’(heavenly abode).

Devotee: Ma, What is Vairagya?

Maiyaji: Detachment from all the attractions or pleasures of this world and beyond.

Devotee: Maiya ji , What is ‘Upraamta’?

Maiyaji: knowing the momentary existence of available luxuries and being indifferent to those is called Upraamta.

Unconditional Surrender

 Unconditional Surrender: Someone asked Gopis – Why do you love Krishna so much? He is dark in complexion, has doesn’t look straight, has awkward style of standing and walking.He lies, steals cloths, etc. He is a clever too. What good quality you find in him that you love him so much…!! You are so beautiful, you might have easily got someone else.

Gopis replied – Whether he is dark or fair in complexion, beautiful or ugly looking; it does not matter to us. We do not love him with any condition, our love is unconditional. He is adorable that’s why we can’t stop ourselves from loving him.
                If a baby is dirty, cloths are torn; even then mother hugs and loves the baby because she considers baby to be her own. She does not put any condition like the baby should be clean and should wear all the cloths then only she will love and hug the baby.
                Similarly, your love also should be unconditional like that of Gopis and mother. It should not be based upon fulfillment of any conditions or expectations like – if this happens then only I will love God, if that happens then only I will listen to the discourses, if my son lives up to my expectations then only I will worship God.
If conditions are put then you are doing business with God. You do business everywhere with everybody in this world. Keep at least one place aside where there is no business but only unconditional surrender and love. And that one place can only be lotus feet of God and spiritual master.

The True Shelter–Prernamurti Bharti Shriji

For happiness, peace, enjoyment, one takes shelter of something or the other.  Shelter (Aashray) can be anything such that by taking support of that shelter, one gets rid of efforts and feels happy, relieved from all the burdens. Support (Aadhar) is something with which you can share half of your burden (Aadha bhar). For instance, when you are tired while walking, you take support of wall to share half of your load.  Not only body but mind also looks for shelter when it gets tired. Shelter taken by body is called as ‘Aadhar’ and that taken by mind is called ‘Aashray’ (Spiritual Shelter).  So to summarize, a person is habitual of taking shelter and cannot imagine living without a support or shelter.
A person takes shelter of parents, spouse and then children for livelihood at each stage of life. But there is one supreme shelter governing all these shelters without which all these materialistic shelters of things like table, chair, etc. and relationships like that with parents, spouse, children are meaningless. And this supreme shelter is our Almighty God.
We forget to take shelter of God assuming that these materialistic shelters will give us peace, happiness, support. But in reality, the shelter of relationships and belongings in turn increase our load, bondage, tension and worries. As time passes by, these shelters start saying goodbye. And at the end we realize that none of these shelters are useful other than that of God’s shelter. Had these shelters been real, the necessity of God’s shelter should have never been felt.
Whenever a person searches for support in any relationship, he expects the other person to behave as he desires, which is neither acceptable and nor possible always leading to disputes. Thus by giving troubles and hardships, God wants us to redirect our shelter from materialistic to his divine shelter.
The affection of one person towards other keeps on changing along with the time. Then how can one find true shelter in these changing relationships of the world? Pujya Shriji narrates one incident of King Bharatri related to this. Bharatri was blinding loving his wife. Once a saint gave him a divine fruit as a blessing for peace and prosperity.  He gave that fruit to his wife, who in true gave it to her lover – a servant.  And this servant gave that fruit to Bharatri again so as to make him happy. When Bharatri came to know this truth that his wife whom he was loving blindly, she was loving somebody and that somebody was again loving someone else; he remembered the words of his Guru Gorakhnath who used to preach him – not to trust this untrustworthy world but to take refuge of that omnipresent God always. He then took shelter of Guru Gorakhnath and became happy forever.
So take the true shelter of GOD only who cannot betray anyone. One who takes God’s shelter does not have to be dependent on the worldly shelters for happiness and peace.  A person is respected when he makes friendship with people who are senior to him. So if he makes friendship with God who is senior of all the seniors then no doubt the whole world will respect him.
One who takes shelter of this materialistic world get three things – turbulence, sadness, sinfulness whereas one who takes shelter of God gets three things – he becomes tensionless, fearless , sorrowless.   Tensionless – he does not have to worry for his basic needs like food, clothing and shelter. Fearless – he does not any fear like physical, mental and fear of death.  Sorrowless – he has faith in God and believes that whatever God is doing is for his good only even in situation of sorrow and thus becomes sorrowless.
Then why do we need shelter of this materialistic world?  It is our habit to take shelter. We cannot live without shelter. Then why not take shelter of the lotus feet of our God / Guru / Saints and become tensionless, fearless and sorrowless…..!!!

Shivling puja – Prernamurti Bharti Shriji

Shivling pujan titleWorship of Lord Shiva removes distress and poverty, grants learning and wealth, bestows all desires. It also gives the devotee transcendental knowledge, by elevating the power of thought and en-kindling the light of discrimination.(sc)

Lord Shiva is the unchanging consciousness or the soul in man. Parvati is the maya sakthi or the illusive power that appears as mind and matter.Syllable `sh’ means permanent bliss, `I’ stands for male energy, `va’ stands for female energy.(sc)

Vedas declare that worshiping Shiva in the linga form helps one gain highest merit in this life and in the future lifetimes. Accumulated sins of many lifetimes get washed away by sincere devotion and prayers to the lord.(sc)

It is said that nothing is as holy as Shiva puja.Shivling and shivpuja connects a devotee with the Supreme Being – Lord Shiva. The linga is the symbol of Lord Shiva and the linga puja helps the devotee in understanding Lord Shiva. The Lord cannot be described but still we say he is without a beginning and an end and is without a form. It is difficult for a devotee to understand this formless nature. Therefore Lord Shiva appeared in the form of Jyotirlinga before Brahma and Vishnu. The Linga thus is a symbol of Lord Shiva. Each Linga puja, step by step, takes the devotee to the eternal truth – that they are part of the Supreme Being.(sc)

Before starting the Puja, the devotee takes a bath and wear freshly washed clothes. Hymns praising Lord Shiva or the mantra ‘om namaha shivayaa’ are repeated to create a mood for worship. Then, the devotee sits in front of the linga and blows conch or ring bells. This indicates the beginning of the Puja.(sc)
The shivling should be first offered Panchamrit, which is a mixture of milk, ganga jal, saffron, sugar/honey and water.First it is the panchamrit abhishek – the libation of five holy liquids over the linga. The libation can consist of any five of the following – water from river Ganga, honey, sugarcane juice, milk, yogurt, ghee, seawater, coconut water or milk, fragrant oils, rose water or other precious liquids. Usually, only milk of cow is used. While pouring the liquid, om namah shivaya is uttered. Some devotees utter the Lord’s name 108 times and some 1008 times. (sc)
After the panchamrit abhishek, the linga is cleaned with water from Ganga. (This is might not be possible always so just normal water.) After this the linga is smeared with sandalwood paste and is decked with flowers. Water and sandalwood paste is used to keep the linga cool, as Lord Shiva is always in a highly inflammable state. In some Shiva temples, cooling liquid constantly drops from pot hung above the Linga.(sc)
Next, sweets, coconut and fruits are offered to the Lord. Camphor and incense are lit and ‘arati’ is conducted. Some devotees fan the linga and sing praises of the lord.(sc)
Finally, ringing of bells or blowing of conch indicates the end of Puja. White ash (vibhuti) is rubbed on the forehead and it is also distributed. Fruits, sweets and coconut are distributed as ‘prasad.’(sc)
The main importance of  Shivalinga are as follows –
1-  Shivaling is god shiva himself. Worshipping Daily and offering Bel   leaves,Pushpa(flower) and snan ,Pleases and makes mahadev(god shiva) happy.(sc)
2 –  Shivaling is supreme god of universe,all god and goddess worship god shiva  to please god shiva,there is no difference between god shiva and shivling.(sc)
3 – Any one who worship god shiva in Shivaling form attains importance of life,hence one will attains good health.(sc)
4- Shivaling worship in home and temple daily attains prosperity,good health and there is residential of all god/goddess in that bless home.(sc)
5 – Shivaling is only Supreme god of universe,who wash and removes all sin and mistake done in past,present life.We should make happy god shiva by chanting god shiva different mantra,offering daily flower to god shiva in temple.(sc)
6- Worshipping Shivaling in home and establishing in temple helps to attains mukti/Moksha(Salvation) ,one will attains free from life cycle of trouble who even  do darshan god shiva as Shivaling form.(sc)
Never use a kumkum tilak for the shivling, although the devotees can use it for the idols of goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha.(sc)
One enjoys good fortune of Shiva Yoga in a horoscope, when the lord of the 10th house is in the 5th house, the lord of the 9th house is in the 10th house, and the lord of the 5th house is in the 9th house. Due to this yoga, the native would be a commander of armies or enjoy high position, a big business magnate and also possess divine wisdom.One attracts victory in endeavors when Shiva is worshipped on Arudra nakshatr.(sc)
Mondays in the month are auspicious to worship Lord Shiva.Mondays in the month of Karthik (mid Nov- mid Dec) and in the month of Shravan (mid July – Mid August) are auspicious to worship Lord Shiva.Women pray to Shiva for welfare of their husbands and sons.(sc)
