World No Tobacco Day – Prernamurti Bharti Shriji
WHO’s slogan for this year’s World No Tobacco Day is “Get ready for plain packaging” and in a statement released Tuesday, it said: “Plain packaging is an important demand reduction measure that reduces the attractiveness of tobacco products, restricts use of tobacco packaging as a form of tobacco advertising and promotion, limits misleading packaging and labelling, and increases the effectiveness of health warnings. Plain packaging of tobacco products refers to measures that restrict or prohibit the use of logos, colours, brand images or promotional information on packaging other than brand names and product names displayed in a standard colour and font style.”
According to WHO, about 6 million people die every year from tobacco-related illnesses. About 5 million die from direct tobacco use, and more than 600,000 deaths are caused by second-hand smoke.

Each Hindu festival is associated with many beliefs and mythologies, so is the holy day of Shivaratri. One belief says that Shivaratri is celebrated to commemorate the day when Lord Shiva consumed the deadly poison, which came out during Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean) Whereas, according to another belief, it is the day when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married.
Let’s know the legend of Samudra Manthan in detail.
The legend of Samudra Manthan is the reason as to why Shivaratri is celebrated. It is said that once the devas (Gods) and asuras (devils) were churning the ocean of milk. During the churning process, several things came out of the ocean. Among all those things were a pot of poison. The poison had the potential to destroy the universe, which frightened the devas (Gods) and asuras (devils). To seek help, they ran to Lord Shiva, the Lord of destruction. Lord Shiva, in order to save the universe from the deadly effect of poison, swallowed it but held it in His throat. This act resulted in Lord Shiva’s throat turning blue, for which he earned the name ‘Nilkantha’. To celebrate this event of Lord Shiva, Shivaratri is celebrated.

Follow it as best you can every day. Even if you slip back into old habits, keep on trying. You will become spiritually strong and healthy in due time.
He who perceives Me everywhere, and beholds everything in Me, never loses sight of Me, nor do I ever lose sight of him.
—The Bhagavad Gita VI:30
What is Divine Presence ?
The ordinary person’s mind is habitually restless, given primarily to worldly matters, which by their changeful kinetic nature dissipate the attention. What is necessary is to balance life’s duties with meditation on God, by which one learns to focus the mind in a most wonderful way. When a spiritually equilibrated person wants to accomplish a task, he is able to concentrate the full power of his disciplined attention on it, and it is done! When the concentration is fixed on God, its outward expression is a dynamic force for accomplishment.
The habit of being inwardly in the calm presence of God must be developed, so that day and night that consciousness will remain steadfast. It is worth the effort; for to live in the consciousness of God is to be done with enslavement to disease, suffering, and fear. just be with God; that is the be-all and end-all of life. If one resolves never to go to sleep at night without meditating and feeling the Divine Presence, into one’s life will come happiness beyond all expectation. Effort is necessary, but that effort will make one a king enthroned in the kingdom of peace and joy. Time spent in the pursuit of extraneous material things is a waste of man’s precious opportunities to know God. I am telling you this from my heart: Blessed is he who makes up his mind never to rest until he has found God.

Prernatirth Yatra–The inspirational journey of life
Somnath temple stands at the shore of the Arabian ocean on the western corner of Indian subcontinent in Gujarat State. This pilgrimage is one of the oldest and finds its reference in the ancient texts like Skandpuran, Shreemad Bhagavd Gita, Shivpurana etc. The hymn from Rig-Veda quoted below mentions the Lord Someshwar along with the great pilgrimage like Holy rivers Ganges, Yamuna and Eastward Saraswati. This signifies the ancient value of this pilgrimage.
Prernamurti Bharti Shriji’s glorified journey was carried out in Somnath temple, Organised by the temple trust , where devotees from all over India got privilege of her divine darshanas and spiritual discourse.
North of Somnath, en route to Veraval, is the famous Lord Krishna temple, Bhalka Tirtha,
Nearby is Dehotsarg, where He succumbed to His mortal wound. The temple at Bhalka Tirth is known as Mahaprabhuji’s Bethak, and a basil tree has been planted in Lord Krishna’s memory. At the Dehotsarg Tirth, in the 9th century AD Shri Vallabhacharya gave discourses on Shrimad Bhagvat Gita for seven days, as well as the revered Gita Mandir, which has eighteen marble pillars with a chapter from the Bhagvat Gita inscribed on each one. The temple also contains a beautiful tribhangi idol of Lord Krishna playing his flute.
The Geetamandir has been built here where the divine message of Shrimad Bhagavat Gita is carved on eighteen marble pillars. Shri Lakshminarayan temple is located close by. The Balramjiki Gufa is the place from where Lord Shrikrishna’s elder brother Balaramji took journey to His final abode.
Triveni Ghat in Somnath is the meeting point of three holy rivers – Kapil, Hiran and a mystical River Saraswati, which are believed to be flowing to their ultimate destination – Arabian Sea. These stages of rivers where they meet and then flow together to the sea symbolises human birth, life and death.
Rajputa Vaja clan was in charge of Somnath during the Muslim desecrations. The devotional episode of the princess Veni is said to have been depicted in the novel by Shri K.M. Munshi. The temple was outside of the fort wall of Prabhas Pattan at the time of holy war with Gazani. The soldiers of Gazani attempted an abduction of the princess Veni, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva who used to regularly visit the temple to offer her services to the Lord Shiva. The traditions maintain that the Shiva linga spontaneously got divided and the princess got buried into it. The Shiva temple here is known as Veneshwar temple after the fond memory of the divine episode of Veni.
The glorified carried onto place where Pujya Lilashshji Maharaj did penance and attended Nirvana. after that Dakshinmukhi Ganpati Mandir and behind that Swayambhu Shivlinga, there were many Shiv Lnga but the one appeared only once in month else covered with Sea water.

Prernatirth Yatra–The inspirational journey of life
Koliyak, Bhavnagar–Nishkalank Mahadeva Temple — Gujarat is full of wonders and awe. This temple is buried inside the sea. On a heavy tide day, all that can be seen are just the flag and a pillar. It is beyond one’s comprehension that there is a Lord Shiva Temple just under the fierce sea. This temple still exists, and people visit this place on foot! The temple has 5 distinct Swayumbu Shiva lingams inside. This is certainly one of the best spiritual destinations!
The following temple story dates back to Mahabaratha era… Pandavas killed all the Kuravas and won the battle. Pandavas were grief stricken, knowing they acquired sins for killing their own relatives. In order to find redemption for their sins, Pandavas met Lord Krishna. To remove the sins, Krishna hands over a black Flag and a Black COW. He asks the Pandavas to follow it, when both Cow and flag turns white, they all will be pardoned. Krishna also advises them to do penance to lord Shiva, after that. The angst stricken brothers followed the cow wherever it went and carried the flag. They walked for days, to different places and the color did not change. Finally, when they arrived at the Koliyak Beach, both cow’s and the flag’s color turned to white. Pandavas were exalted. And all the 5 brothers sat for deep penance, meditated on lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva, pleased by all the brothers, appeared in lingam form in front of each brother. In total there were 5 (Swayumbu) lingams which appeared on their own. Pandavas were delighted to see this and they worshiped all the five lingams with great devotion. Lord Shiva here is known as Nishkalan Mahadeva. ‘Nishkalank’ has many meanings, they are clean, pure, guiltless, to cleanse, to purify, etc…….

Wherever you see flowers, you naturally get attracted towards them.Isn’t it? You feel good while looking at the flowers. Where flowers bloom, you can’t stop yourselves from looking at them. You naturally get attracted towards them and adore them. There is so much of beauty around…!!
Similarly, if your heart is also blossoming with the flowers of virtues, the attraction of people towards you increases naturally.Everybody gets attracted towards you naturally. Not only that, even God gets pleased with the fragrance of your virtues.God comes running towards one whose heart is blossoming with the flowers of virtues.
These flowers are not red to attract your attention immediately.Neither is it lily to attract with its fragrance. So, it is neither red in color nor lily, it neither contains any color nor any fragrance; even then these flowers are so beautiful. They look beautiful, don’t they?
Their life is very short. If they are plucked from the tree, they can’t survive for more than 2 hours.Even if they are on the tree itself, even then their life span is not more than 2 days. Can’t you be virtuous like these flowers at least even after being a human; so that your virtues attract someone, your aroma attracts God?This plant, full of flowers, looks so lovely.
Similarly, if you want to become aromatic, you want to become lily; then naturally your fragrance will spread in all the directions. If your heart is red with the virtues, then you become eligible for the worship of Lord Ganesha.Even if there is no color, like the white flowers; still they are flowers only. The flowers of virtues naturally attract everyone.
Hence, you should instill virtues like that of white flowers at least within you.You will do it I suppose, won’t you ?At least this much is expected out of you…!!
