Sun does not stop rising, birth and death does not stop for anybody, river does not stop flowing, air does not change its direction and goes on blowing, then why do we stop reciting God’s name and listening to discourses?? It should also continue… When a sinner does not stop himself from doing bad deeds, then why should we stop doing good deeds??
Human body is mortal and seizes one day. The normal tendency of human body is to get destroyed; of mind is to become restless; of intellect is to give-and-take and that of soul is to be steady, liberated and happy always. So be in your soul always and experience that you are immortal even if your body gets destroyed.
There are 2 types of graciousness – general and specific. For instance, general knowledge like that of relations, etiquettes, etc.is attained by the grace of parents. But to attain specific knowledge, children are sent to school. And to attain more specific knowledge like that of graduation in a specific field, one has to take efforts to attain it.
Another instance is of sun. When sun rises, because of its general grace – everyone starts off with their daily work. But for the special grace of sun, one offers water to sun God, recites mantras, etc. So when you gain specific knowledge it works as specific graciousness. Similarly, there are millions and billions of human beings on this earth who are humans in general but if human wants to attain liberation then he has to listen to specific discourses, walk on the path of knowledge showered by Guru, and experience the specific graciousness of Guru within yourself – Guru Kripa. Then only human life is successful and human is eligible to be called as human.
It is the specific grace of God that he has made only humans eligible to achieve liberation from the cycle of 84 lakh births and deaths. So, why not take advantage of this precious human birth and attain liberation with the specific graciousness of God…!!
When one renounces all the wishes, it leads to meditation. To accomplish the wishes, one has to be dependent on others whereas to renounce the wishes one is independent. One should go for renunciation of wishes, instead of their accomplishment. With renunciation of wishes, one can become happy, healthy and contented right away. The more you increase the wishes they will keep on increasing and the more you decrease them they will be reduced. There is no end to wishes…
Bhoga na bhukta vayamev bhukta, stapo na tapta vayamev tapta, kalo na yati vayamev yata.
Era does not pass but we pass away, luxuries remain but we pass away, we burn ourselves to fulfill our wishes, to accomplish our wishes…
Much more happiness lies in renunciation of wishes than their accomplishment. One can become happy right away by renunciation of wishes instead of waiting for the period till they are accomplished.Who knows by the time the wish is accomplished, whether one will really be happy or not. So then why to do such a business where you don’t have any guarantee that you will be benefitted or not…
In the shops it is generally written – “Udhar nahi rokad” means goods will be lent tomorrow and only cash will be accepted today. So shopkeepers run their business and get profit through this technique today itself. Similarly you also go for renunciation of wishes, instead of their accomplishment and become happy and contented right away..
We take the golden opportunity to present some rare question answer series which took place between Highly Revered, our Compassionate Mother ,Sh. Sh.Ma Laxmi Devi and some women devotees, or spiritual seekers to quench their spiritual thirst .
We hope this series of question answers will help many people on the path of spirituality:
Devotee: Ma, what is the most valuable thing for a Sadhak?
MA: The most valuable thing in a sadhak’s life is TIME. Every sin can be repented, but there is no repentance for non utilization of time. The time , once gone, never comes back. There is no way we can repent for this sin. So, always do optimum utilization of time. Always be careful that even one second of yours does not go wasted in unnecessary tasks.
Devotee: Ma, we don’t get time to do Sadhna(spiritual practices), when to do it?
Ma: Morning 4-8 and evening 6-11 is the ample time for you. You don’t have to worry about 3 time’s meals, that you get anyways. But the truth is that you don’t have that ‘tadap’( intense yearn). One who has that urge , takes time out for it. A fish who lives in water has no value for water, same is the case with you. All of you have got the permission to live in the ashram, that’s why you cant even imagine the hardships we have gone through during the period of our sadhna. One who has even a little bit of interest towards God, he will automatically develop the trait of ‘vairagya’(detachment).
Human being has made his happiness dependent on others, dependent on sense pleasures; that’s why he is sad, worried and upset.
One becomes happy if praised and sad if criticized.
Light , fan, A.C., etc are controlled by the switch on the switch board to on and off these devices. Similarly, if you become happy and sad by honor and criticism of others, then it as good as you have given the control of your switch to others to make you happy and said. You can’t get happiness till your are controlled by others.
Always control your switch yourself. Become independent, not dependent. Try to be happy and stable always, in both favorable and unfavorable conditions.
Vashishthaji told Lord Ram, this world burns without fire and sinks without water. Here, fire is referred to fire of anger, jealousy and unrest; not the actual fire. Kabirji said – if you want peace and rest, then take refuge in the lotus feet of holy saints.
Human birth is far superior from all other 84 lakh births. He has got excellent intellect and capabilities as compared to others. He can cook as well as feed others too. He can himself understand as well as make others understand. He can have faith and say – “O’Lord, I am yours and you are mine..!”.
Human birth is not only to earn wealth or to become healthy, but also to utilize one’s capabilities to understand and experience that omnipresent God. One invests his time to earn wealth for the offsprings and spouse without any guarantee, whether they would be favorable to him in future or not. If one nurtures his children with the expectation that the children will look after him in old age, then definitely he will be unhappy. Your real wealth is not any property or savings but spiritual wealth of listening to spiritual discourses, reciting God’s name etc. So, real intelligence lies in earning this spiritual wealth only.
This world had been existing before you were there and will continue to exist even after you. So, stop worrying about as to what will happen to this and what will happen to that, if I am not there tomorrow. When God has given birth, he will make arrangements for our survival too. When God hasgivenmouth, He will provide for food too.He is there to take care of you at each and every moment of life provided you have full faith in Him. He is aware of each and everything about you. So, do not waste your time in worrying about your bread and butter, but perform your duties diligently and take refuge in the lotus feet of God alone…..
**** ……that supreme is the divinely beautiful, in all times… be it past, present or future and… in all
the four stages of life…
****…… All that illumines in this world… dims in front of the MOST RADIANT….
****….. All that shines in the world….. fades.. in comparison to the divine radiance of MY LORD,
****…..One… who chants Anant, Achyut, Govind while looking at the water and drinks it, ….is freed from all the diseases….
****…..What to talk of this !!!….He is even freed from the cycle of birth & death…. forever….
****….. So… chant the name of that Supreme with full love & devotion..
****…. In the divine company of my Lord.…. ego is not to be decorated …
….but.. to be destroyed..
****….. When you are young, you look beautiful……. when old age takes over, you don’t look beautiful…. Beauty of body comes & goes… but that Supreme, our beloved God, looks… the most beautiful at all stages…., He is our best friend, a well wisher…. He is beautiful for children, youth & old too….
……Thinking & chanting the qualities of that Supreme lord,.. you too achieve that internal beauty….
**** O’ Lord, Bless me too with that ultimate spiritual state.. from where nothing can bring me down….
****…One.. who chants His name with love & devotion.. are freed from all sins, worries & distresses.
….. so.. chant with love….
****… Lord says,”O’ messangers of God of death,.. Never touch those.. who are constantly engaged in chanting my name… Govind.., Damodar.., Anant.., Achyut.., Shri Hari…. Rather… make those your victims who even after taking human body, don’t chant my name… who are deeply submerged into this materialistic world… do not listen to my discourse… always engaged in criticizing others… and the one ..who doesn’t seek the company of the Saints… Go… & make only them your victims…
****… Man has a very big quality & that is.. to believe as His own…
…. wife, son, family etc. , they were not yours a few years back… they will not remain yours after a few years… still you believe them to be yours, call them yours….
****…A cloth which you have bought by paying some price, that would be torn out, fade out after some time..or it may get stolen…
…. Even if someone touches that cloth you immediately react… ‘don’t touch.., this is mine
… because… you have a tendency of believing to be yours…
…So… when you can believe a cloth..wife.. son.. family to be yours which were never yours before & will not remain yours later ….can’t you believe that Supreme to be yours!… who was … is …. & will always be yours….. can’t you believe HIM to be yours?
****… Can’t you tell Him… ‘ O’ Lord…I AM YOURS & YOU ARE MINE’….
…..Your heart will be filled with devotion for HIM…. that DIVINE NECTAR will appear…..
****…. If one doesn’t feel that ‘DIVINE NECTAR’ within oneself, then.. be assured… that you have not chanted HIS name properly….
****…. One who chants HIS name properly & daily from the core of his heart, will never face sorrows, fear, stress & tension….
****… A mere ‘Hari Naam’ Japa accomplishes that divine pleasure & that ultimate in Kaliyug… for which one had to perform hard austerity in Satyug…, Yagna in Tretayug and Services in Dwaparyuga….
****… Lord has blessed people of Kaliyuga with a big discount….
****… Even if one utters the half alphabet ‘Ra’ of ‘RAMA’, he attains salvation while breathing his last….
….. At the time of death, if a father utters his son’s name… which is same as God’s…, he attains Lord’s Supreme abode, like the great sinner ‘Ajamil’.
Such big discount…!!
****….. Even after getting this discount …one doesn’t chant HIS name and doesn’t listen to HIS discourse,…. birth of such a human being is a big misfortune…..
**** While chanting that ETERNAL’S name… feel oneness with HIM…, attain the state of that ‘IMMORTAL’ …..from where nothing can bring you down….
…… So… chant HIS name with love & devotion, ….. celebrate …
****….You dance,… sing…, clap & enjoy when you go to a party or function…. Nobody asks you to do that but still.. you do…
****.. Can’t you dance, sing or clap for HIM, from where you get the ultimate grace, you become One with HIM….
****…. Here… don’t build your ego… just destroy it….
****… Just be HIS once,… what you’ll attain, can’t be explained in words….
****… When you run after this materialistic world…you get nothing… neither this world, nor GOD….
****… But once you please that Supreme… that Lord becomes yours.. and… this materialistic world would run after you too…
Ancient India was called as Golden Sparrow (Sone ki Chidiya) because it was wealthy and prosperous. People were very healthy due to intake of ghee, milk, etc. Children were very bold. What was the secret behind it??
When Britishers were ruling over India, even children refrained to bow their head in front of Britishers and accept slavery. The reason behind this fearlessness and boldness of children was our great Hindu scriptureGita. They used to recite the below shloka of Gita:
“nainam chindanti shastrani nainam dahati pavakah na chainam kledayanty apo na sosayati marutah”
Sri Krishna said: “The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind.”
By reciting the shlokas of Gita, one attains liberation.Even if half shloka of Gita is recited, it makes one happy and fearless.Gita teaches one – howto eat, sleep, talk, do business, resolve the problems of daily life instantly, etc.
Before independence, rule was made to ban reading Gita. Even today after so many years of independence, we are still slaves of something or the other. Even today, we are failing to respect Gita and cow; not because of any rules but because of our thought process…!!
Try to unveil the secret of how one becomes bold, happy and independent through Gita…Your Gopal is also trying to tell you something, listen to him and try to understand what message Gopal is conveying through this small video….
……continued from the GYAN KI GEHRAI(THE DEPTH OF WISDOM)
Devotee : Ma, what is the main goal of human life ?
Maiyaji : The ultimate goal of human life is Realisation of Self.May one take one birth or thousands, but one has to achieve
Devotee : Maa what should we do to achieve this goal ?
Maiyaji : Do sadhna(spiritual practices), seek company of Saints and follow their preachings.
Devotee : Maa what is sadhana ?
Maiyaji : By doing which, the thoughts, mind and heart uplifts, becomes peaceful, enhances devotion towards God,is called Sadhna. There is a story in vedanta, that just like a bird who is surrounded by sea from all the sides, when gets tried by flying non-stop, it takes shelter on the same boat from which it took its flight, same way our senses, in disguise of that bird, when get tired by roaming here and there the entire time, come and take its shelter in its soul. After working for whole day, when you get tired, go within yourself and get one with Him(the Supreme Lord) Like, the bird after taking rest on the boat, again starts flying, sameway , our senses after taking some rest again roam here and there.
BRINGING BACK OUR ROAMING VRATTI(SENSES) TO THAT ONE SUPREME BEING IS CALLED “SADHNA”
Prernamurti Shriji in this video unveils the reality of this world through a story of King Bharatri. King Bharatri was an ascetic. His wife was very beautiful. He wrote ‘ Shringar Shataka’ containing 100 shloka on the beauty of women looking at his wife.Bharatri was generously ruling over his kingdom. Once a saint came to his kingdom. He gave king an eternal fruit and told – “I want you to eat this eternal fruit since you are the only one deserving it. After eating this fruit, you will always remain young and happy. But dear king, you are overindulged in the sense pleasures. When you will come to know the reality of this, you will become very sad. “
But Bharatri failed to understand what saint indicated. He gave the eternal fruit to his wife thinking that he will be happy if his wife remains young and healthy forever. His wife gave that fruit to minister, her lover, thinking that if minister remains young she will be happy. Minister in turn was loving a prostitute. He gave that fruit to prostitute for his happiness and not for any benefit of prostitute. Prostitute though that if she eats that fruit, she will remain young forever and increase her sins. So she though that one who lives for the welfare of others deserves this fruit and gave it to Bharatri.
King Bharatri was shocked to see that fruit with prostitute. It was an eye-opener for him. When he came to know that prostitute got the fruit from minister and minster got it from his wife, his Vairagya (renunciation from sense pleasures) was aroused. He was ashamed of himself thinking that he is loving his wife who is loving someone else who in turn is loving someone else. Is this the reality of world???Then he understood what that saint wanted to convey about the reality of this worldthrough the eternal fruit. He then wrote Vairagya Shataka which today also devotees read to attain enlightenment.
So to summarize, when you will come to know the reality of Indriyas (senses), the reality of this world; you will understand that nobody loves you. Everybody loves themselves only. Nobody can love you more than you yourself can because you yourselfare the source of eternal happiness…!!
Prernamurti Bharti Shriji started the discourse by narrating that to getthe birth in human form is rare. Even rare is to get the company of self-realized saints. Even if one gets that,to have faith in them isagain more difficult. If one is able to sustain his faith in saints then his liberation is assured. There are 84 lakh species in the universe; to get human birthin that is extremely rare, precious gift of God to us and is considered to be the door of liberation.
At the time of fertilization there are lakhs of sperms which compete with each other to fuse with the ovum, however only one is successful and leads to conception and later development of fetus. All others get wasted and flushed away in the drain. You are fortunate that you got birth while there were others – your sisters, brothers who did not get this chance. This human body thus is received with the grace of God.
God has showered his blessings on us by giving us human birth and saints too, now it is time for us to grace ourselves by accumulating Dharma (Kartavyo Dharma Sangraha). Shriji said that even an animal knows how to give birth, feed and take care of its offspring. Even animals become happy in the happiness of their children and sad in their sufferings; if a man also limits oneself doing the same then what difference is there between an animal and a human being? What differentiates human is his pursuit of dharma.
Liberation can be achieved only in the human birth amongst all other 84 lakh births.Prabhuji explained her stance by narrating a hypothetical story of a man who fell in a deep well which was dark and dingy and could not find his way out. A saint who was pained by seeing his plight told him to keep searching for a door which was there by touching the walls of the well. The saintassured him that he would definitely locate the door to come out, which was there between the walls, if he persistently touches the walls carefully. The man having faith in the words of the saint started touching the walls in the hope of finding the door. Unfortunately when the door arrived the man felt an itching in his head and started itching his head while moving thus missing the door. He again came back to the same position after spending much energy and time, however this time also as luck would have it, he started scratching his hand and missed the door. Like this he missed the door thrice and was very exhausted and frustrated at the end announcing that there is no door and there is no truth in the declaration of the saint. The kind saint noticing this revealed the truth and asked him to search for the door without moving his hand at all. The man followed the instructions and was finally able to find the door; he hastily moved out and could see light everywhere. Explaining the story Shriji said the door here stands for human body through which we can attain enlightenment. Itching symbolize the worldly attachments, vices which leads one to go around the 84 lakh cycles of births and deaths.
